The Fall of Kass by Kris Hack is the second book in her Ascent Series. This was a great addition to her debut novel The Ascension of Laney. If you had any doubt who the alpha angel in charge was in Laney’s book, this book leaves you without any questions.
Kass is all alpha plus a whole lot more! This is one sequel that you don’t want to miss!
This book kept me guessing from the beginning and I could not put it down. There is a depth to the writing and the characters are intense with great interactions. Laney and Kass will never have a normal life again but their love for one another never wavers. This is a very interesting series!

Kass was the gorgeous neighbor of Laney's growing up. They became best friends and fell for one another until one day he and his family disappeared. Laney grows up and goes to college but never thought she would run into a familiar face and wondered what happened to Kass all those years. Kass has a secret but doesn't have enough to explain it to Laney. He has only a few days to help Laney ascend and become someone like him.

This series just keeps getting better and better. I have to say that Kass is definitely my favorite character in the series and I'm a little sad to part ways with him, but at the same time I'm really excited to see where this series is going with the other characters. Very well written and almost impossible to out down. The pages were pouring with emotion and excitement from start to finish. Kris Hack has made me a PNR fan for life. This book takes place after the Apocalypse, while Laney is still coming to terms with the extent of her full powers and Kass is trying to understand what's happining to him after his fall. All these, while looking for their friends and family and trying to stay safe.
This is the second book in the Ascent series and this is the series that made me like this genre. This book is gripping from the first page.

I absolutely loved Kass and Laney!! They are so in love and bonded. They bring out the strength in each other and need each other in such a primal way. Kass is the only one that can calm Laney so her powers don't kill her or someone else and, Kass relies on her to keep him sane. There's is a bond that's unbreakable!!

I hated the lies Sasha fed Kass to make him make a decision he wouldn't have under any other circumstances. She was horrible!!!

And I can't get enough of Miguel and can't wait to find out more about him and Ryan in the next book.

I thought this book ended perfectly and I can't wait to see what's in the store for the next one.

I almost gave this book 4 stars. I really enjoyed this series, but I was left with too many unanswered questions. This is the conclusion of Kass and Laney’s story, however there is another book coming in the Spring of 2016 The Resurrection of Ryan. I hope that the unresolved issues are brought to light as the series continues.
The book is exciting as the story of Kass and Laney continues. As Laney’s powers continue to grow, she becomes more and more powerful. Kass has so many decisions to make. Since being striped of his wings, he is in constant pain and the voices in his head are driving a wedge between him and Laney. There is a way to get rid of the voices, but it goes against everything that Kass has believed since becoming an angel. The angels however are not acting the way they should. The souls being reaped are not going to heaven. Why are the angels destroying so many lives? How can a small army of Fallen Angels and Dark Accents save the world from total destruction. I for one can’t wait till the next book comes out.
