I found this book to be well written and outstanding read. If you have a wonderful sense of humor you will love this book. I have not laughed so hard in a long time over a book. This author is outstanding, funny and can write a wonderful store. Everyone I told has read it and loved it. They agree it will make you laugh out loud. My hats off to the author, if the rest of her books are like this one I would buy anything she wrote.

I am not one to write to many reviews but this one just had to be written.

Shut Up and Kiss Me Christie Craig 9780505527998 Books Reviews

When Shala Winters comes to the town of Precious, Texas to launch a tourist-attracting PR campaign, she is the only one who doesn't know that one of the town's elder's, Redfoot, has had a sacred dream in which he learns that Shala is soul-mate to Redfoot's foster son, the Chief of Police, Sky Gomez.

The story started out with quite a few unexpected laughs and some cute interactions between Shala and Sky, but then there was just too much going on - a mystery to be solved, murders and attempted murders, three rocky romances, a mysterious Scrabble-loving hot guy, and a returning native son with the worst luck in the world.

I was vastly entertained in the beginning before it all got to be too much. When the inevitable misunderstanding blew up Shala and Sky's budding romance, I almost lost interest altogether. I never really understood how a little misunderstanding turned into a huge deal that caused such a major over-reaction on Shala's part.

Still, overall, a sweet romance with happily ever afters all around. Worth a read.
I'm always looking for free books for my because I read so much and the budget can only take so much abuse! I can say that I've been pretty lucky in finding some great authors this way, and I'm pleased to add Christie Craig to this list. Shut Up and Kiss Me in one of those great romances where the characters feel like people you know in a town that actually exists and you'd like to visit. But the story also feels fresh and new, and I'm already anxious to read more about Precious, Texas and its citizens.

There's little that is glamorous in this story there are multi-generational scuffles and misunderstandings, the struggle to preserve culture in the face of modernity, people trying to save their small town, and the everyday struggles of imperfect people finding each other and falling in love. Although the Big Bad that compels the heroine to stay in Precious, Texas is perhaps a bit convenient and unexciting, the rest of the book feels original and interesting, and I had a difficult time putting it down. Rest assured, the Big Bad is destructive, and definitely impacts the direction of the story, but there are points in the narrative where it just doesn't seem all that important. This is pretty much the most serious complaint I have about the book as a whole The extent of the damage seems random and extreme given what the threat actually turns out to be. The dialogue was fun, though, and even the bits that I thought would induce eye-rolling turned out to be necessary human moments.

The rich cast of secondary characters may seem unwieldy at times, but they helped to establish the community, as well as set up some of the future installments in this series. Although some readers have reported they didn't like the number of characters, I found that it helped me to 'see' the town, and understand why the characters choose to remain there. The town is also a character in itself, and I really liked the local color generously sprinkled through the story. All in all, it was a fun read, perfect for curling up with.
Not a novel not even a bunch of short stories. Just the same chapters from a few books. The writing was engaging by I wasn't intriqued. I'm mad that someone thought this was acceptable to pass off to readers. This isn't the first time that I have come across it. And it needs to stop. If it doesn't I promise the publishing industry will regret it. You can't pass off iron fillings for gold and expect it not to catch up with you.
Shala Winters - Photojournalist is hired to go to Precious, Texas to help bring tourism to this Native American town. She gets her camera taken away by Sky, for breaking a powwow rule, that same camera causes her to be a victim of violence.

Sky Gomez and family members - They all get caught up in a very interwoven family drama that could be a story all of it's own. Throw in the mystery of who is after Shala and why, you won't be able to put this book down..

Wow... what a book, I can't remember the last time I laughed out loud while reading a book. Yes, there is a very steamy romance between Shala and Sky. Also a romance between Sky's sister and brother, you will have to read it to figure that one out.

If you like a steamy romance, a good mystery and laughing out loud then this book is certainly for you. It is over 300 pages, but none of them will put you to sleep at all. I'm hoping fthat another book is written, there are so many great characters with so many story lines, I certainly want to know more. And to think I haven't even mentioned Lucas, who is a mystery all of his own. Get this book, you won't regret it. I gave it 5 stars, because of how hard it made me laugh... over mustard of all things!
